United Community Bank is looking for a Mainframe Operations & Banking Systems Specialist. Under the supervision of the Data Manager, this position will be responsible for monitoring technical systems operation and daily banking process management to help ensure accuracy, uptime and smooth workflow across all departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Execute and monitor IBM mainframe batch jobs and scheduled processes
- Maintain the daily operational checklist and verify completion of key tasks
- Respond to system alerts and provide Tier 1 / Tier 2 incident report as needed
- Collaborate with IT and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely job completion
- Document system activity, incidents and resolutions with precision
- Support system upgrades, patching and disaster recovery efforts
- Learn and assist with cross-departmental backup roles
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior at all times
- Maintain familiarity with bank products and services
- Maintain familiarity with all regulatory standards
- Maintain familiarity with and uphold all Bank policies and procedures
- Complete all training requirements as assigned
- Other related duties as assigned

Computer Requirements :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)Experience with IBM z / OS or Fiserv Premier systems preferredExperience with DB2 a plusEducation / Experience Requirements :
High school degree or equivalent - Associates or Bachelors in IT or Business field preferred2+ years of experience with mainframe operations, IT support or banking operations preferredAdditional Requirements :
