Military Lawyer - JAG Corps

Be among the first to join the Air Force JAG Corps and reshape your career. A JAG assignment offers the chance to use the law to serve the service community, practice in a range of fields, and grow into the legal professional you've always wanted to become.

Qualifications

• United States citizen.
• Graduate of an ABA-approved law school and admitted to practice law in the highest court of any U.S. state, commonwealth, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Commission before 40 years old.
• Pass a Air Force medical examination once selected for the JAG Corps.

Service Commitment

The initial active duty commitment is four years, beginning on the day you depart for Officer Training School (OTS). You will not incur a service commitment until you accept your JAG assignment.

Prior Military Service

If selected for direct appointment and you have prior active duty, National Guard, or Reserve service, that time will be credited toward pay and rank. All active duty service is credited toward retirement.
