Job Description
The Fundraising Participant Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and growing St. Baldrick’s peer-to-peer fundraising efforts by cultivating strong, meaningful relationships with fundraising volunteers. In collaboration with their supervisor, the Specialist will develop and implement strategic engagement and stewardship plans designed to enhance the participant experience, increase retention, deepen engagement, and maximize fundraising outcomes. Serving as the primary point of contact, this role will provide proactive coaching, motivation, and resources to empower participants in their peer-to-peer fundraising journeys.
The Specialist will respond to volunteer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, resolving issues and anticipating needs. This role demands performance in a fast-paced environment where meeting deadlines is crucial. The Specialist must consistently demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to our mission.
Responsibilities
In partnership with their supervisor, develop and execute peer-to-peer fundraising strategies, including targeted outreach via email and phone, with special emphasis on top fundraisers and high-potential participants.
- Leverage the existing participant base to drive retention and revenue growth by equipping fundraisers with the tools and resources needed to expand their personal networks and increase donations, including peer recruitment strategies.
- Serve as a coach and primary support for all fundraising participants, providing guidance on registration, donation processing, campaign best practices, and peer-to-peer platform management; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Deliver high-touch concierge service to top fundraisers, helping to elevate their fundraising efforts, generate awareness, and fulfill their personal motivations for supporting the mission.
- Lead engagement and coaching efforts for individual virtual head-shaving participants and the Teams for St. Baldrick’s program; provide recognition and ongoing support to these participants as needed, including collateral and communications.
- Manage communications received from assigned email domains for the Foundation and respond to participant inquiries within two business days, unless otherwise approved by supervisor.
- Track, analyze, and share participant registration and fundraising data to inform retention and recognition strategies; collaborate with colleagues to support participant stewardship and concierge services.
- In partnership with the communications team, develop content and draft email copy for monthly fundraising tips communication and manage data for email distribution.
- Collaborate with team to develop and implement recognition and stewardship strategies for key peer-to-peer fundraising segments such as team captains, new participants (1–3 years), top fundraisers, and League of Legendary Heroes members. Tactics may include personal outreach, handwritten notes, in-person visits, and other forms of engagement.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with high-impact peer-to-peer participants, connecting them to relevant staff and opportunities across the organization; determine strategic outreach plans in partnership with supervisor.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WITH AT LEAST 1-2 YEARS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. THE STARTING HIRING RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $22 TO $24.50 AN HOUR BASED ON EXPERIENCE. ST.
