We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Metrology department as a Shipping and Receiving Associate. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our operations—handling incoming deliveries, preparing outgoing shipments, and ensuring accuracy every step of the way. This position offers the opportunity to build valuable skills in logistics, organization, and quality control while contributing to a collaborative and safety-focused team environment.
This is a first shift role working at our location in Hatfield, PA from 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Cleans and stages incoming work in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Seals or applies rust inhibitor to calibrated gaging in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Receives and stages customer materials in designated areas prior to order entry.
- Compares identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming deliveries, evaluating any damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponds with the proper department personnel, Q.A., shipper and / or customer to rectify any damages and shortages.
- Determines method and mode of outgoing shipments to customer requirements.
- Prepares and expedites shipments. This includes determining label requirements, assembling and packing crates, boxes, etc. and preparing and affixing shipping labels, posting weights and shipping charges, calculating and affixing postage, and preparing all necessary shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. This applies to all carriers.
- Performs entry level measuring tasks as time permits.
- Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Understands and complies with LTI’s QA Program.
- Seeks clarification when job specifications, methods, or directions are unclear.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations at all times and utilizes personal protective equipment, as required in designated areas.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS :
No prior experience or training, but 1-2 years of experience preferred.High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Familiar with proper packaging methods. (preferred)Excellent attention to detail required.Computer skills required : Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to multi-task.Mechanical and mathematical aptitude is a plus. This roll often prepares an individual to take on additional duties and responsibilities, furthering their growth within the organization.Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess a valid green card.This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In accordance with ITAR, to be qualified to work in this facility, applicants must be a US Person, which is defined as a US National, US Permanent Resident, and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
