Job Description
A prominent provider of high-quality construction materials in the United States is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join its team at the Quarry in Manquin, Virginia. This role involves the operation and configuration of various machinery, ensuring optimal performance, conducting maintenance, and performing regular quality assessments. The Equipment Operator will be tasked with safely and efficiently operating excavators for large-scale earthmoving projects, loading and unloading materials, and collaborating with site supervisors to adhere to project specifications and safety guidelines. Additionally, the operator will monitor excavation sites for hazards, assist in backfilling and grading, and maintain accurate logs of work and maintenance activities, all while promoting a culture of safety and compliance with health and environmental policies.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of experience operating excavators and heavy equipment in construction or excavation settings. A strong understanding of excavation safety procedures and OSHA compliance is essential, as is the ability to navigate around underground utilities safely. Familiarity with specialized excavator attachments and trench shoring techniques is also required to ensure safe excavation conditions.

Mechanical & Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems. Diagnostic & Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot engine or system issues using diagnostic tools. Independence & Time Management : Ability to manage repairs on-site, prioritize tasks, and complete work without direct supervision. Ability to use the DVIR Software; other job-relatedsoftware as required. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment Ability to determine the appropriate equipment for the task at hand. Ability to monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.
