Staff Accountant Opportunity

Responsibilities
- Commission System Management : Administer commission processing systems, including setup of customers, policies, producers, carriers, and electronic remittance mappings, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Commission Reconciliation & Reporting : Perform commission reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, maintain payment records, and distribute commission statements to internal and external producers
- Accounts Receivable Oversight : Prepare and send client invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up to ensure timely payments; manage shared commission inboxes
- Accounts Payable Coordination : Review and process payables via Concur or manual check requests, coordinate vendor setup, and facilitate timely premium payments to insurance carriers
- Financial Close & Stakeholder Support : Assist with monthly accounting close processes, respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, and implement workflow efficiencies
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 1 year in a Staff Accountant or Commission Accountant roleTechnical Proficiency : Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, sorting / filtering) and familiarity with CRM / commission software such as Sagitta, Applied Epic, AMS360, or AgencyBlocCommunication & Collaboration : Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively across all levels of the organizationAnalytical & Organizational Skills : Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities with urgencyWork Style & Adaptability : High emotional intelligence, solutions-oriented mindset, and thrives in dynamic, collaborative environmentsAdditional Information
This job is expected to be performed on-site in the office.
