Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals achieve their highest level of independence. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including those with disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals on the autism spectrum. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that enhance the quality of life for patients in skilled nursing facility environment
Duties
- Assess patients' needs and develop personalized care plans based on their specific requirements and goals.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve functional abilities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Implement early intervention strategies for children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Conduct case management duties to coordinate care among healthcare providers and support services.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to inform treatment decisions.
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies to support recovery at home.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices in occupational therapy.
Requirements
A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.Experience working in acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics is preferred.Familiarity with discharge planning processes and case management principles is essential.Strong understanding of patient care practices related to occupational health and rehabilitation techniques.Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.Experience in speech therapy or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
