Security Officer - Retail Patrol Shift

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Shift in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a welcoming presence for guests and staff. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the property, and delivering exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate : $21.46 / Hour

Day Time Wed11 : 00 AM - 07 : 00 PM

Thur11 : 00 AM - 07 : 00 PM

Fri11 : 00 AM - 07 : 00 PM

Sat11 : 00 AM - 07 : 00 PM

Sun11 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior or incidents to management and / or law enforcement as needed.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits within the retail environment.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and interacting with visitors and staff.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and employees while representing Allied Universal.
  • Complete required reports and documentation related to security-related activities and incidents.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
