The University of California, Irvine Police Department, provides contemporary law enforcement services including patrol, traffic, investigations, community engagement, crime prevention and suppression, and security services to a daily population of more than 50,000 people.
The Administrative team at UCI Police Department provides administrative and logistical support to each of the Divisions within the Police Department, including UCI Health and UCI Campus. The team is responsible for the development and management of the Department's budget, asset management, payroll, accounts payable / receivable, records, communications, and front desk.
Your Role on the Team
Under the general supervision of the Director of Administration, the Records Analyst provides a wide variety of customer service and clerical support duties to the Police Department. The Records Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and processing of police department records, assists with compiling statistics and information for the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting, National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Clery Act reports, UC System-wide reports, State and Federal Public Records act complainants and monthly statistical reports.
Duties also include, but are not limited to, reviewing police records, completing records projects, identifying obsolete records based on records retention schedules, scheduling and performing records purging, responding to records requests, providing statistical analysis, and maintaining criminal records and file databases. Creates and updates procedures for maintaining department records in order to comply with all University policies and procedures.
This position requires sound problem-solving skills, analytical acumen, computer skills, and the application of state and federal law as it pertains to records and evidence, and the ability to quickly learn and apply University of California regulations.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $31.48-$33.71 (Hourly)
