Must-Haves
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in construction or heavy industry
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices.
- Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse teams.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, including safety data sheets (SDS) and site plans.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to multiple project sites as needed.

The Construction Site EHS Manager is responsible for adapting, implementing, and overseeing the corporate environmental, health, and safety programs at construction sites. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and minimizes risks to workers, the environment, and the project. The EHS Manager collaborates with project teams to maintain a safe, sustainable, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, enhance and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and programs tailored to construction site operations.Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards, as well as company-specific safety protocols.Train and educate site personnel, including workers, supervisors, and subcontractors, on safety practices, emergency procedures, and equipment use.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventive measures.Manage environmental compliance, including waste disposal, erosion control, and spill prevention, in accordance with permits and regulations.Maintain and update safety documentation, such as permits, logs, and training records.Coordinate with project managers and contractors to integrate EHS considerations into daily operations and planning.Oversee the proper use, storage, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and emergency response teams when required.Core Competencies
