Electrical Inspector
Responsible supervisory inspectional and enforcement work in securing compliance with ordinances and established standards relating to electrical safety; and related work as required.
Minimum qualifications :
Promotional :
Permanent status with the Department of Safety & Permits and seven (7) years of experience as an Electrical Inspector, Senior Electrical Inspector or Electrical Inspector, Lead.
Active certification by the International Code Council (ICC) as a Residential Electrical Inspector and Commercial Electrical Inspector.
Original entrance :
Seven (7) years of full-time experience doing electrical inspection work or responsible electrical experience in multi-family residential, high rise commercial, and light industrial construction.
Active certification by the International Code Council (ICC) as a Residential Electrical Inspector and Commercial Electrical Inspector.
Note : Applicants hired into this job classification between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2027 are exempted from the requirement to reside in Orleans Parish.
Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and professional licenses / certifications claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
