Job description

Kew Publishing produces books for all ages on botany, horticulture, art, history and lifestyle inspired by Kew’s work and collections. Publishing under our own imprint and in partnership with others, our publications inspire and educate people about our work and provide access to Kew’s unique heritage, collections, knowledge and cutting-edge expertise whilst also generating income that helps support Kew’s important activities. The role of Image Licensing Assistant is essential to the output and commercial success of Kew Publishing.

We are looking for a passionate and organised candidate to join our highly productive and creative small team, to undertake image research for book projects and for commercial image licensing. Educated to degree level, or with equivalent experience, we are looking for a candidate with previous image research and metadata compilation experience. A keen eye for commercial imagery and an interest in the publishing process is essential. Sensitivity and tact are required in this pivotal role within the publishing team, and a strong customer focus, which involves interacting with clients, partners, authors, and a variety of stakeholders.

Essential to the role is excellent prioritisation, time-management and organisation, along with strong personal motivation and drive, and use of own initiative and flexibility. Good IT literacy and written and oral communication are required, and an excellent ability to work with numbers and prepare reports.

Interviews are due to take place on 12 November.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

The salary for this position is£29,692 per annum [Band B]
