Job description

Job SummaryThe Technical Writer – Quality Management Systems (QMS) is responsible for developing and revising controlled documentation that supports manufacturing operations and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and QMS expectations. This role translates complex technical, regulatory, and operational requirements into clear, accurate, and inspection-ready documents aligned with enterprise document control processes.Key ResponsibilitiesQMS Documentation Development
  • Author and revise controlled documents including SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms, Templates, and Master/Batch Manufacturing Records (MMR/BMR)
  • Ensure clarity and compliance in defining manufacturing processes, product requirements, and quality controls
  • Regulatory & Compliance Alignment
  • Interpret regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, GMP) into structured, compliant documentation
  • Support audit readiness through traceability and objective evidence documentation
  • Maintain consistency with enterprise quality requirements and governance frameworks
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with teams to gather requirements and validate content accuracy
  • Facilitate document reviews with SMEs to ensure technical and regulatory alignment
  • Incorporate feedback and drive timely document completion
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Life Sciences, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–8+ years of technical writing experience within regulated manufacturing environments (pharmaceutical, food, tobacco, medical device)
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and document control processes
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation (SOPs, MMR/BMR, specifications)
  • Strong understanding of QMS principles, regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO 9001, GMP), and document control/change management processes
  • Ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, concise documentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting FDA inspections or regulatory submissions
  • Knowledge of data integrity and audit trail expectations
  • Certification in technical writing or quality systems (ASQ, CQIA)
Certifications (if applicable)
  • None required; ASQ or CQIA certification preferred

Education: Bachelors Degree
