Job Summary

Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders and assists in writing change orders, RFl's, meeting minutes, and reviewing Submittals. Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The position includes three progression steps (I, II, Senior) with increasing responsibility and experience requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks; assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting; ensures proper handling of meeting agendas, RFl's, and daily reports.
  • Supports the project management plan (PMP) and change management process; participates in project scope activities and helps the team complete the project.
  • Administers the project quality management plan and promotes a culture of safety on the project.
  • May assist in calculating daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work; participates in risk management and environmental control processes.
  • May oversee BIM (Building Information Modeling) coordination between subcontractors and designers.
  • May be responsible for LEED documentation and for creating / updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
  • May provide lines, grades, and layout for the project and maintain an organized log book.
  • May provide weekly quantities and maintain quantity logs; participate in budgeting and cost control to help complete the project within budget.
  • Provide support to superintendents and assist in resolving field problems as necessary.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others.
  • Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical / field experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required (steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Occasionally may climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Must frequently grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects, and may sit, stand or walk for extended periods.
