Patient Care Associate, Full-Time, 36 Hours / Week

Patient Care Associate, Full-Time, 36 Hours / Week. Day / Night shift rotation. Every other weekend.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

• Assists with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, comfort, and safety.
• Monitors and documents vital signs, patient weights, intake / output, and other data.
• Completes patient treatments as directed, and assists healthcare professionals with more complex treatments.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKGs, applies Holter monitors, and performs glucometer. Collects and labels specimens.
• Answers patient call lights and ensures resolution of patient issues.
• Transports discharged patients.
• Participates in patient care rounds.
• Provides one-to-one observation of patients as needed.
• Participates in conferences and educational programs as appropriate.
• Maintain BCLS certification and attend the annual Safety Education Fair.
• Maintain unit competencies.
