Purpose
The Retail Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing safety adherence and CCTV programs across all Corporate Save A Lot retail locations. The role involves monitoring and assisting stores to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety visits in stores.
- Monitor and assist stores to comply with local, state, and federal safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Review and suggest improvements to standard operating procedures for operational efficiency and compliance.
- Develop safety-related training materials such as SOPs, guides, and policies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Talent Development to assess training needs.
- Track OSHA incidents using EHS Safety Tracking Software.
- Review store visit findings and advise store leadership on corrective actions.
- Oversee third-party services, ensuring effective communication regarding store requirements.
- Analyze safety data and prepare trend reports for leadership.
- Deliver safety training in compliance with regulations.
- Assess safety and security needs across retail locations.
- Manage CCTV systems for all retail stores.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure proper video footage access.
- Raise concerns regarding security equipment to relevant leadership.
- Work with law enforcement and security teams on theft and security issues.
- Report security equipment malfunctions or damages.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
About You
1-3 years of experience in Safety and Compliance; retail experience preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Safety, Environmental Health, Food Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.Experience or certification in OSHA compliance.Strong communication, problem-solving, and solution-providing skills.SERV Safe, National Registry, or similar Food Safety Certification required within six months of employment.Experience in loss prevention, security, or asset protection preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical skills for data interpretation.Physical Requirements
Ability to travel up to ~50%, including weekends and evenings.Work mostly in temperature-controlled environments.Sit for extended periods at a desk or computer.Use of office equipment such as calculators, keyboards, and telephones.Physical activities may include stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.Our Values
