American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transfer Center Clinical role in an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and strong critical care assessment skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Transfer Center - Clinical unit with an emphasis on coordinating patient transfers and no direct hands-on careHandle an average caseload of 12 cases per shift, potentially managing 10-15 cases simultaneouslyPatient types include all populations requiring inter-facility transfers within and outside of the Dignity systemAcute care environment utilizing Cerner EMR, TeleTracking bed management system, Tiger Connect, and multiple Google applicationsNight shifts available (7p-7a, 1a-1p, 3a-3p) with every other weekend and potential holiday coverage requiredNo floating requiredCasual dress code; clean scrubs in any color or professional jeans and hoodies permittedFacilitate patient transfers by assessing clinical information, providing patient reports, and coordinating with physicians, specialists, and receiving facilitiesDaily duties involve requesting beds and ensuring proper placement at appropriate facilitiesSupportive team environment with supervisors and leadership available onsiteOrientation includes 1 day of general hospital orientation and 3-5 days of departmental training, which may occur on any shiftFirst time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year; PRN work via agencies is acceptableLimited to no RTO is permitted; requests are rarely accommodatedFree onsite parking and complimentary EV charging providedMust be able to work holidays as needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum 2 years recent ICU, ED, or transfer center experience; total of 3 years RN experience requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredStrong critical care assessment and clinical judgment skills mandatoryExperience in acute care settings is requiredProficiency with Cerner or Epic EMR systemsAbility to use multi-application systems including bed management and secure texting platformsPassage of the Relias Dysrhythmia exam required prior to acceptance; may use prior results from the last 12 months\n Benefits\n
