Remote Electrical Design Engineer
Remote candidates MUST HAVE 5-15 years of Electrical Design Experience using Revit
Must be located within 100 miles of Detroit, MI
Role & Responsibilities :
- Act as a project electrical engineer for the design, development and documentation of primary power, secondary power, lighting, fire alarm and other auxiliary systems on small to medium-sized projects
- Assist lead project electrical engineer in the design, development and documentation of primary power, secondary power, lighting, fire alarm and other auxiliary systems on large and complex projects
- Research and document any required code review for assigned projects
- Perform product research as required for project development
- Attend project team coordination meetings and Owner review meetings
- Develop materials for client presentations and review meetings
- Present electrical system concepts / designs to clients and / or design review committees
- Develop and edit project specifications
- Review product shop drawings / submittals
- Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs)
- Visit project construction sites to review progress
- Develop construction administration field observation reports
- Develop relationships with new and existing clients
- Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and service.
Follow-up with improvement implementation
Position Qualifications :
- Graduation from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) college or university with a degree in Engineering, State of Michigan Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Significant knowledge and experience in the area of electrical design for commercial construction, building codes and CAD concepts
- Advanced knowledge and experience using computer aided design, spreadsheets and word processing programs (Microsoft Word & Excel)
- 3+ years 2D and 3D experience in AutoCAD preferred.
- LEED accreditation a plus; BIM experience a plus
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
