Position Summary

The SSS Trainer is a key leadership role responsible for training, coaching, and developing Group Leads across multiple Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) sites. This position provides direct, hands-on support to ensure that Group Leads are well-prepared to lead safe, engaging, and effective afterschool programs. The SSS Trainer collaborates with Program Specialists and receives additional support from the SSS Lead, but is the primary staff developer for Group Leads. They are also responsible for communicating performance updates to site agency coordinators and supervisors, supporting a collaborative approach to staff growth and accountability.
Essential Functions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary trainer and coach for Group Leads across designated sites.
- Provide initial onboarding and continuous professional development in alignment with program expectations and district policies.
- Train and model the use of STOIC behavior strategies (Teach, Model, Practice) and PBIS systems.
- Monitor performance and provide real-time feedback, coaching, and modeling through regular site visits.
- Lead or co-lead district-wide trainings and workshops related to youth development, safety, and behavioral management.
- Assist Group Leads with daily schedule planning and overall program implementation.
- Create and maintain training calendars and site visit schedules that do not interfere with peak program hours.
- Communicate consistently and professionally with agency coordinators and site supervisors, sharing feedback on Group Lead strengths, progress, growth areas, and necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with the Program Specialist to identify underperformance and implement SMART goals or staff development plans as needed.
- Stay up to date on district-mandated trainings, changes in procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Uphold and model a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality when discussing staff performance, student behavior, or site-specific concerns.
- Submit weekly reports on site visits, staff development efforts, and follow-up needs to the Program Specialist.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED48 semester college units or passing score on Paraeducator examAt least 1 year of experience as a Group Lead or in a youth leadership positionFamiliarity with STOIC, PBIS, and behavioral support strategiesStrong communication, training, and presentation skillsTB test clearance and DOJ / FBI background checkReliable transportation and flexibility to travel between sitesPreferred :
