Education and Experience :
Bachelors' Degree in either Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field;Possess a thorough knowledge of hospitality, food service operations management and customer service;A minimum of five years of dining management experience in senior living or luxury hospitality.Knowledge of state and federal regulations and guidelines, infection control standards, H.A.C.C.P., and regulations for operating under a Class C liquor license;ServSafe certification required.Certified Dietary Manager certification preferred.Must be computer literate, and be competent with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and basic Excel worksheets, and the ability to adapt or be trained on new software;Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong leadership and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, lead teams and ensure regulatory compliance.Job Description :
Accountable for developing an annual Dining Service department budget. Financially accountable for operating within the agreed upon budget, giving justification to any variances to budget.Demonstrates effective leadership, a positive attitude and commitment to Broadmead.Will lead the Dining Department through renovation, expansion, and new program implementation for Broadmead's current Master Plan, strategic plan, and future growth.Accountable for resident satisfaction with the overall dining service program.Stays abreast of current industry trends to continually improve the dining experience for Broadmead residents.Sets expectations, develops plans and manages processes to assess, improve and maintain a high quality dining program on a consistent basis.Responsible for working in a cooperative manner with Department Directors on interdepartmental matters.Responsible for working with designated work groups and committees, with regular attendance and participation.Resolves dining service issues between the Dining Service Department, the BRA Food Service Committee, and residents.Responsible for developing and, at a minimum, annually reviewing department policies and procedures. Responsible for enforcing and adhering to department policies and procedures.Accountable for safety, sanitation, security and departmental maintenance program.Accountable for tracking renewal of all contracts, permits and licenses related to the dining service program. Presents all contracts to the COO for approval.Insures that dining service performs all services within the guidelines of Broadmead's mission statement, values and contractual agreements.Responsible for the coordination and communication to dining service staff, Broadmead staff, and residents, plans for residents' care during emergency situations or major projects.Responsible for evaluating the performance of the dining service managers and the Executive Chef.Responsible for assisting in their development through coaching, support, teaching, accountability, two-way communication and, when necessary, conducting disciplinary action.Function as a back up to the managers (and supervisors) when necessary for performing tasks when needed.Ensures the timely evaluations of all dining service staff.Accountable for ensuring that all dining service staff complies with Human Resources policies and procedures on a consistent basis.Ensures that all dining service staff attends required in-service training, certifications and mandatory meetings.Responsible for communicating departmental needs to consultant dietician.Responsible for communicating variances in work schedule to COO.Responsible for the development and completion of all annual goals that has been agreed upon in advance by the Director of Dining Service and the COO.Responds in a timely manner to email, electronic meeting requests, and COO's requests for communication.Accountable for promoting internal customer service.
