The general function of this role is to process mail, Western Union orders, utility bills, cash checks, sell money orders, collect dry cleaning orders for customers. Additionally, always maintaining a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

The position reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home. There are no positions that report to this role.
Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, assisting customers, answering the telephone, working with co-workers as a team, processing mail and Western Union orders, selling money orders, cashing checks, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
Secondary duties and responsibilities include signing on and off lottery machines, assisting customers with dry cleaning, assisting customers at the registers, selling and redeeming lottery tickets, processing bottle refunds, and assisting in other areas of the store as needed.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include the ability to solve practical problems, do arithmetic calculations, file, post, and mail materials, copy data, interview, and provide basic direction. Education and experience required include a high school or equivalent and over six months to one year of similar or related work experience.
Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, visual requirements, and necessary physical activities such as stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. This position is continuously exposed to dirt and noise and is a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.
The equipment used to perform this job includes a fax, telephone, equipment used in the postal area, lottery and money order machines, Western Union equipment, computer, and cash register, intercom. Daily contact is made with customers, weekly contact with suppliers / vendors, and monthly contact with federal / state governmental or regulatory agencies.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
