Summary
The National Manager - TPL Freight Forwarding will manage the FF Operations Department, along with all related personnel and functions. This position will oversee coordination and transportation of all freight, ocean containers, import, export, and integrated carriers. The person in this position will need to approach challenges with creativity, a sense or urgency, and develop customer focused solutions. The essential goal of this position will be to increase business opportunities and emphasize business development, in an effort to achieve greater overall success for the Freight Forwarding Department.
Responsibilities
- Manage, Monitor, and Support Freight Forwarding Operations Provide a reliable team truck service to the customers Manage team truck service pools having service/rate competitiveness Manage costs/rates of long haul and drayage Manage inland transportation sales Supervise and support to solve operational issues with team members and regional team managers Coordinate the operation and work closely with regional managers and Glovis HQ for national accounts
- Monitor, Supervise, and Manage Special Cargo & Outbound Operations Provide a reliable service of special cargo Support the preparation for route research, operational planning, competitive rates and submit the quotation to the customers in timely manner Supervise and support operational issues with team members and regional team managers Coordinate the operation and work closely with regional managers and Glovis HQ for national accounts
- Support and Proceed with New Business Projects & Support Preparation of Analysis and Plan Support/develop the establishment of new businesses/projects with regional managers, management team and HQ including new trucking business and GMX border crossing shipments Support the preparation of in-house customs including staffing, customs IT system
- Monitor, Supervise, and Manage Working Efficiency, KPI's, & Service Contracts Support FF System upgrade and process innovation Monitor/Supervise AR/AP status and support to make a payment collection plans for old aging accounts Supervise to make service contracts/agreements/certificates/insurance copies and monitor the validity of them Monitor Freight Forwarding KPI's and support to achieve them Support/prepare for short/mid/long term of business plans, analysis & forecast reports
- Monitor and Manage Trading Business Supervise P/O, on time delivery and manage sales & service rates Supervise/ support operational issues Support Glovis HQ trading team's inquiries
- Manage People and Organization Lead, coach, enforce, and empower direct reports to perform and achieve in line with Company values and strategy, and department goals adhering to Company SOP and policies Recommend and implement strategies to continually improve department performance Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies Communicate pending work and/or unresolved problems to the following personnel

Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
- General understanding of the Supply Chain Management and the logistics industry is required
- Understanding of the full range of Freight Forwarding services, including movement scheduling, monitor and control services, cost optimization, and various industry specific requirements is required
- Ability to establish business plan and proceed new business developments/projects
- Must be proficient with PC's
- Intermediate MS Excel, Power Point, Word and database management is required
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
- 10+ Years of Direct Experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Freight Forwarding Required
- Experience in Business Management and/or Business Development Preferred
- 7 - 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience Required
