This position is an unlicensed team member that works in the nursing department prior to the completion of the nurse aide training program.
Pay Rate : $15-$16.50 an hour (based on experience)
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS :
- The team member during this "prior to training" period, can't perform any direct / physical patient care
- The position is part of the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP)
- Once this team member completes the nurse aide classes and required clinical work, the team member is considered a Nurse Aide in Training (NAT).
- The facility may not use any individual working in the facility as a nurse aide for more than 4 months under the Pre-T or NAT positions. The team member must pass the licensure test to become a STNA during this time period. If the team member fails to pass the licensure test in the 4 month period, they either have to be terminated or be moved to a non-nursing position
RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer call lightsPass ice and water to patients between meals. Assist with hydration cart and HS snack passAssist with making patient bedsAssist with laundry portion of STNA job :Put away patient's clean personal laundry.Stock the clean linen closets following proper infection control techniquesClean and organize patient drawers under the direction of patient / responsible partyEmpty soiled utility containers in outside trashMark personal items (i.e. toothbrush, denture cups, toothpaste, etc...) to prevent cross contaminationSet dining room tables (linens and silver ware) in prep for meal serviceMeal Service - team member is not permitted to feed any patientPassing trays and drinks to residents in dining roomDelivering room trays to patients roomPerform one on one visits / companionship with patientsComplete any other non-direct care task assigned by nurse or unit managerAssist with activities if no other nursing related activities are neededVillaspring is an EOE / M / F / D / V and Smoke-Free Workplace
