Facilities Maintenance Technician
This position requires semi-skilled and manual work in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of City facilities. Work involves performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks to ensure that public buildings, offices, and common areas are safe, clean, and welcoming for employees and visitors. Essential Functions :
- Maintains various facilities through custodial activities, subject to but not limited to : daily cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, hallways, lobbies, and other areas of City facilities.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and wash surfaces as required. Empty trash and recycling containers, and ensure proper disposal. Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Clean glass surfaces, doors, and windows.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and floor scrubbers.
- Report any needed repairs, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the Supervisor. Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and cleaning up for meetings or public events.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments when needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and use proper protective equipment and cleaning agents. Secure buildings after cleaning duties are completed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Equipment : Uses or repairs small / light equipment, such as power tools. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
