Cost Administrator
Location : Littleton, MA (Daily commute required)
Position Summary : The Cost Administrator will be an integral member of the Project Controls team, providing essential administrative and technical support to the Cost Manager and Cost Engineers. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate cost data, coordinating project reporting, and ensuring consistency between field operations, project management, and accounting for heavy civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Promote and adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including reporting all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, in support of our core value : Safety First, in everything we do.
- Assist the Cost Manager and Cost Engineers with the collection, entry, and verification of cost and production data from field operations.
- Review daily reports, timecards, and equipment usage logs to ensure accurate cost coding and alignment with project budgets.
- Maintain and update project cost tracking systems and spreadsheets to reflect current labor, equipment, and material costs.
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly cost reports, forecasts, and cost-to-complete summaries.
- Assist in setting up new cost codes, tracking items, and change orders as directed by the Cost Manager.
- Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and proper cost allocation prior to submission for payment.
- Help reconcile project cost data with accounting and project management systems (e.g., Viewpoint or similar).
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files for cost documentation, change orders, and financial reports.
- Coordinate communication between project teams, accounting, and management regarding cost tracking and reporting needs.
- Provide administrative support for project cost meetings, including report preparation, documentation updates, and data entry.
Qualifications :
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.2-4 years of administrative or cost support experience, preferably in the heavy civil construction industry.Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or job costing systems such as Viewpoint or HCCS.Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Professional, proactive, and dependable approach to work.Necessary Attributes :
