Overview
Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the Transdigm Group (NYSE : TDG). This position is staffed in Camden, on the Highland Industrial Park. Armtec produces defense energetic components and related products for the US and allied war-fighters, with a mission to defend democracy and protect freedom. Location : Camden, AR. Salary range shown in job posting : $114,000.00-$212,000.00.
Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the required product quality levels are attained. This is achieved by continually monitoring inspection activity and leading continual improvement activities utilizing quality tools and methods.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares inspections and test plans in accordance with contractual requirements
- Directs and coordinates product verification relating to production and procurement processes
- Leads process improvement projects supporting Armtec's continual improvement efforts
- Reviews quality problems with Operations / Engineering personnel and directs actions to correct discrepancies
- Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, schedules, rejected items, rolled throughput yield and cost of quality
- Aids in organizational planning by participating in departmental conferences
- Identifies and understands quality provisions of the customer contract, specifications and expectations
- Issues corrective actions of deficient processes and follows up to verify corrective / preventive action effectiveness. Interacts with Flare Countermeasures EPIR Coordinator to resolve open issues
- Investigates manufacturing process / methods ensuring proper traceability and robustness are achieved
- Oversees and supports product internal audits and assessments working with Flare Countermeasures Audit Coordinator
- Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
- Understands and lives by Armtec\'s ethics and business conduct policies
Qualifications
Solid understanding of inspection measurement techniques, GD&T, and drawing interpretationExperience with Coordinate Measuring Machines, including familiarity with programmingWell organized, detail oriented; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookAbility to compose business letters and correspondenceFamiliarity with business math, internet, calculator, copier, telephone and fax machineStrong judgment, organization, planning, initiative, flexibility and creativityAccuracy, concentration, alertness, and attention to detailAbility to perform calmly under pressure from production demandsPhysical capability includes walking up and down stairs and between programs as neededEducation / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Engineering or related field; seven to ten years of related experience and / or training, or equivalentAbility to obtain DoD Confidential ClearanceSelf-motivated with responsibility and analytical skillsGood communication and high integrityAbility to interface and work productively with all employeesProficiency in reading and writing EnglishAuthorized to work in the U.S.; eligible for required U.S. Government authorization per export control regulationsWork Hours
4 / 10 Work Schedule – 40 hour week. Overtime as needed.
