Construction Inspector

Job Location : Maryland Office - Hunt Valley, MD Salary Range : $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Description Wallace Montgomery is looking for entry-level Transportation Engineering Technicians to perform a variety of technical engineering support tasks related to construction inspection. Specific duties will depend on job assignment and include, Performing field inspections of construction and maintenance projects for the installation / modification of traffic control devices - (traffic signals, signing, lighting) Documenting daily work activities on an Inspector's Daily Report. Calculating and documenting quantities for work completed. Maintaining daily photos of work progress. Assisting with performing material testing. Inspecting Maintenance of Traffic / Work Zone Traffic Control installations. Work will be performed in both office and field settings, with exposure to weather, rough terrain, and active traffic zones. Assignments may require travel across Maryland. Inspectors are required to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation and must be available to work night shift and weekends as needed. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid Maryland driver's license Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Access) Strong math and data entry skills Ability to work outdoors Excellent communication and teamwork No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn and grow. Preferred Skills Construction inspection experience Knowledge of Traffic Control Device design, construction and operations. Licenses & Certifications MDOT required certifications in Erosion and Sediment Control, Temporary Traffic Control, OSHA10, Traffic Barrier, Materials testing (Asphalt, Soils & Aggregates, Concrete, Pavement Markings) and IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level 1 will be obtained once employed.
