Construction Field Project Manager - Howard County, Maryland

Baltimore Fabrication is seeking a Construction Field Project Manager to oversee and coordinate complex, large-scale steel fabrication construction projects nationwide. As the primary liaison between our General Contractors, in-office Project Management team, and field operations, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring every project is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and integrity. This position requires frequent travel in the Washington, DC, and Baltimore region / Howard County.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary field contact for General Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Interact daily & continuously with foremen to assist with coordination of material logistics, deliveries, and scheduling with vendors and the project team.
- Review deliveries and address missing or mis-fabricated materials promptly.
- Collaborate with the erection crew and internal engineering team to resolve field issues efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, subcontractors, and other key partners to promote collaboration and project success.
- Participate in pre-planning meetings, including sequencing, scheduling, and delivery timing.
- Monitor site progress, safety compliance, and manpower needs.
- Maintain daily communication with field foremen and ensure on-site safety standards are upheld.
- Track project progress and maintain a rolling punch list.
- Record time and activities daily using the company platforms.
- Represent Baltimore Fabrication with professionalism, integrity, and respect in all communications.
Qualifications
Education :
Associate’s degree in a Construction-related field or 7+ years of relevant experience required.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.Experience & Skills :
Proven experience in construction required, steel fabrication project management experience preferred.Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and general computer literacy highly desired.Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.OSHA 30 certification (minimum).Willingness to travel frequently and work at active construction sites.Preferred :
Prior experience with subcontractor management and field coordination.Continuing education or certification in project management and leadership development.Interested candidates may apply here.
