Traveling Electrical Superintendent
Position Overview :
The Traveling Electrical Superintendent oversees all phases of electrical construction projects across multiple locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installations. This role requires extensive travel and strong leadership to manage field operations, coordinate with project management teams, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and supervise all on-site electrical activities, including crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Develop and manage project schedules, manpower forecasts, and daily work plans.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and electrical codes (NEC / local).
Review drawings, submittals, and RFIs to verify accuracy and resolve field issues.
Oversee material procurement, deliveries, and jobsite logistics to minimize delays.
Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and enforce site safety protocols.
Monitor quality control, conduct inspections, and ensure all installations meet specifications.
Track labor hours, productivity, and job progress for reporting and forecasting.
Mentor Foremen and field leaders to promote skill development and maintain high performance standards.
Serve as the primary on-site representative for the company, maintaining client satisfaction and professionalism.
Qualifications :
10+ years of electrical construction experience, with 5+ years in a Foreman or Superintendent role.
Master or Journeyman Electrician license (state-specific).
Proven experience managing large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
In-depth knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, and construction sequencing.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with scheduling and project management tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar).
OSHA 30 certification required; NFPA 70E certification preferred.
Must be willing and able to travel extensively to various job sites nationwide.
Preferred Experience :
Data centers, healthcare, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial builds.
Experience managing multiple crews and multi-million-dollar electrical scopes.
Strong understanding of cost control, change management, and field documentation.
