In your role as a Registered Nurse, you will adhere to the legal and ethical standards set forth by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association, embodying leadership, effective communication, and accountability in every interaction.\n\nThe RN is responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships, integrating cultural competence, and collaborating closely with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Your focus will be on respecting patients' needs and values throughout the care process.\n\nResponsibilities\n

• Standards of Practice : You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent nursing care.\n
• Assessment : Collect relevant data and information about patients' health situations.\n
• Diagnosis : Analyze assessment data for potential diagnoses or issues.\n
• Outcomes Identification : Define expected outcomes individualized for each patient.\n
• Planning : Develop and adjust plans of care to achieve expected results.\n
• Implementation : Carry out the care plan effectively.\n
• Coordination of Care : Ensure seamless transitions in patient care.\n
• Health Teaching and Promotion : Advocate for health improvements and safety.\n
• Evaluation : Assess progress towards health outcomes.\n\nStandards of Professional Performance : Engage in professional behaviors, including ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, and evidence-based practice. You will be accountable for your actions and expected to lead in your professional setting.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation : Required graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. All new hires must have current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.\n\nExperience : Experience in nursing is essential, and advancement through the SPIRE clinical advancement program is encouraged.\n\nLicensure : Must be a licensed and registered nurse in Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly preferred.\n\nSpecial Skills : Embrace opportunities for advancement and skill development as you grow in your nursing career.\n\nPhysical Demands : This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to assist with lifting patients weighing between 5 to 300 pounds. You may encounter infectious diseases and be exposed to emotional and mental health challenges.\n\nAdditional Information : \n\nThis position is covered by the Connecticut Healthcare Associates Collective Bargaining Agreement.\n\nOrthopedic RN experience preferred.\n\nYNHHS Requisition ID : 162257
