Primary Function :
The Burn Table Operator is primarily responsible for operating plasma or gas burning table equipment to cut and shape metal.
Typical Duties :
- Reads job descriptions to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Positions workpiece; sets, stops, or guides pieces according to specifications.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
- Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience :
- 1-4+ years' experience operating a plasma or gas burning table.
- Previous crane operation experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot operating issues on burning equipment.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Abilit to perform work with minimal to no supervision with minimal errors.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Legible printing / handwriting skills.
