D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Foundation Superintendent manages the construction of multiple homes from permit to a frame-ready job site. Manages all functions of installing home foundations, sewer and water services while maintaining company construction guidelines, environmental compliance, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meets the company home starts plan through advance scheduling of start dates
• Evaluate grading requirements prior to start and after foundation install in order to meet or exceed the allowable schedule set forth by the division
• Evaluate construction sequencing to maximize profitability. Work with the Permit Department in obtaining all necessary permits and approvals
• Review all permit-related plans and specifications for compliance with soils reports, recommendations, and plot plans. Confirm proposed foundation type for each will conform with grading conditions and make recommendations on step downs, foundation type (crawl / full basement / garden level / walkout), retaining walls, etc.
• Identify all lot condition grading / foundation / framing / siding / porch rails / concrete extras and provide information to the Purchasing Department so all additional costs are contracted on purchase orders at job start
• Schedule and manage all construction activities on the building site from excavation through frame-ready in coordination with the job site Superintendent
• Coordinate as necessary to provide on-going balance of on-site soils to minimize construction delays and minimize soil import and / or export costs for the company
• Complete each home foundation, sewer and water services on schedule and delivery to job site Superintendent ensuring all contract obligations are satisfied
• Approve work being performed by subcontractors and handle any related issues
• Maintains a safe work site by implementing safety requirements and good housekeeping regulations, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any state-level agencies' regulations
• Authorize payment of subcontractors upon thorough inspection of work and updating construction schedules
• Maintain compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, including the NPDES permit. Process all payments and back charges weekly for all SWPPS Contractor billing
• Verify all checklists are completed and inspections are scheduled and passed
• Ability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs
• Develop and maintain good rapport with other employees, subcontractors, city officials and inspectors
• Handle escalated problems with subcontractors, city officials and inspectors
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
