Description
Performs intermediate advanced technical work designing, constructing, inspecting and maintaining of a variety of water and wastewater projects, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Utilities Capital Projects Engineer.

Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree with coursework in civil or environmental engineering, or related field and moderate experience working as a civil engineer or in construction management, water / wastewater industry expereince is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and expereince.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Knowledge of modern civil engineering methods and techniques; through knowledge of land and engineering survey systems, methods and techniques; thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of engineering drafting; possess excellent communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and position specific software; ability to effectively work with City Officials, employees, contractors, State and Federal Officials and the general public; ability to prepare technical reports.
Physical Requirements : This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
