Architectural & Engineering (A&E) Representative – Precast Education & Specifications Location : Pomona, CA | Schedule : Full-Time | Department : Business Development / Technical Services American Precast Concrete Inc (APC) is seeking a highly motivated Architectural and Engineering (A&E) Representative to join our growing team. This position supports APC’s business development and project coordination efforts by connecting our innovative precast concrete systems with architects, engineers, and project owners. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design intent and constructability—ensuring APC’s products are accurately specified, technically supported, and seamlessly integrated into architectural and structural plans. This is a salaried, non-commission position focused on education, design collaboration, and technical outreach rather than direct sales. Position Purpose The A&E Representative plays a vital role in building relationships with design professionals while promoting APC’s expertise in precast concrete systems. You’ll participate in design reviews, assist with technical clarifications, and host lunch-and-learn presentations to educate architects and engineers on best practices for incorporating precast solutions into their projects. This role combines technical design knowledge, project coordination skills, and client relationship management. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with the design community, understands construction documentation, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure compatibility with APC’s product standards and manufacturing capabilities. Provide technical input during the design and preconstruction phases to ensure constructability and compliance. Facilitate design clarifications between architects, engineers, contractors, and APC’s internal teams (estimating, drafting, and production). Prepare and maintain project-specific design documentation and communication logs. Develop and deliver engaging lunch-and-learn presentations and technical training sessions for architects, engineers, and design firms. Support the inclusion of APC products in project specifications by providing accurate technical data, CAD details, and sample submittals. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with design firms, project owners, and general contractors. Collaborate with estimating, production, and field teams to resolve constructability or design issues. Support bid-phase clarifications and assist business development with technical recommendations. Performance Standards Timely completion of design coordination and documentation tasks. Accuracy and professionalism in all communications. Consistent and proactive follow-up on design inquiries and presentations. Successful organization and delivery of lunch-and-learn sessions that strengthen APC’s design relationships. Maintenance of complete and organized project records. Contribution to APC’s reputation for technical excellence, collaboration, and client satisfaction. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. (samples, presentation kits, and technical materials). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). 3–5 years of experience in design coordination, technical sales support, or architectural materials. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Familiarity with precast or modular building systems is a plus.
