COORDINATOR OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The role of the Coordinator of Career Development (CCD) is to support career and technical education (CTE) and coordinate career awareness, exploration and preparation opportunities for YCSD students. The CCD works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, career coaches, and other instructional coordinators to ensure the YCSD Strategic Plan objectives related to CTE and career readiness are addressed. The CCD facilitates partnerships with parents, business / industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to support students' pathways to possible careers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Postgraduate Professional License in School Administration and completion of those courses at the graduate level that are pertinent to the assignment
- Three years of exemplary teaching experience, CTE experience preferred
- Experience leading high-quality professional development
- Mentorship or leadership experience preferred
- Experience in technology use and developing technology-based solutions in educational settings

Director of Curriculum & Instruction
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes career awareness, exploration, and preparation in grades K-12.Leads and communicates the development, implementation and expansion of all components of career readiness initiatives and programs.Supports and evaluates the YCSD career coaches in accordance with YCSD policies and procedures.Provides and coordinates activities for students to develop employability skills.Facilitates business, industry, postsecondary education, and community partnerships that provide career readiness opportunities for students including dual enrollment and work-based learning opportunities.Serves as a liaison with the business, industry, postsecondary education, and military community.Functions as a coordinator of CTE curriculum, instruction, and assessment; coordinates the selection of instructional supplies, equipment, textbooks, and other resources.Plans and facilitates workshops and other professional development programs designed to optimize delivery of career readiness instruction in the classroom.Engages in research related to CTE curriculum development and specific instructional programs; analyzes data to make informed instructional decisions.Leads the development of CTE curriculum projects and instructional publications; assists in the organization and implementation of curriculum-related meetings for staff and parents.Communicates the approved YCSD CTE and CTE-related curriculum to the professional staff and maintains documentation of approved instructional materials and equipment.Supports the supervision of classroom instruction; models effective instructional strategies, and demonstrates appropriate use of instructional materials.Coordinates and manages specific academic, co-curricular, and grant-related programs.Coordinates and manages funding for CTE programs.Coordinates and facilitates the CTE Advisory Committee meetings and activities.Engages in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapidly changing workforce; communicates all relevant information to stakeholders.Coordinates the YCSD industry certification assessment program.Gathers and submits data for state reports related to career and technical education courses and industry certifications.Collaborates with local community colleges, universities, business organizations, and related agencies to provide college and career pathway opportunities for students.Performs other duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of administrative personnel.
