Construction Estimator –– US, Houston

We are helping our client, a rapidly expanding real estate development and construction company based in Houston, Texas. The firm develops and builds both single-family and large-scale multifamily residential projects, managing the full cycle from land acquisition through design, construction, and delivery. The organization operates with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, maintaining a hands-on approach to project execution and cost management across multiple U.S. markets.

About the role :

In this role you will manage estimating and cost control for residential projects, from material take-offs to subcontractor negotiation. Collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate pricing, efficient sourcing, and cost savings. Requires strong construction knowledge, negotiation skills, and experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.

Job Responsibilities :

• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for all construction materials and labor components (e.g., tile, roofing, drywall, finishes).
• Prepare and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and purchase orders in collaboration with project managers and leadership.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms, leveraging economies of scale.
• Develop and maintain a database of costs and vendor performance to improve estimating accuracy across future projects.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure material specifications and budgets are aligned with company standards.
• Analyze bids, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations directly to executive leadership.
• Participate in occasional travel to new project markets (e.g., Florida or Texas expansion cities) to meet with vendors and gather cost intelligence.
