Job description

Protouch Staffing is seeking a local contract nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a local contract nursing job in Chicago, Illinois.

Job description :

Key responsibilities :

  • Perform admission and triage assessments on patients arriving to the ER, determining priority of care.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ vital signs, recognize and respond to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians; initiate IVs, fluid therapy, etc.
  • Collaborate with doctors, other nurses, and ancillary healthcare staff to develop and execute patient care plans.

    • Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of ER nursing experience required.
  • Certifications required :

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) often required or preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    • Preferred : Must have prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED.

    EMR : Epic / Cerner
