Plumber - Onsite Manufacturing Facility

As a Plumber with Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, you will be an essential part of our Facilities Department and an important support to Operations as a key contributor to the installation, repair, and inspection of all plumbing systems. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency are integral to success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Installs, maintains, inspects and repairs all plumbing systems (pipes, valves, fittings, fixtures) and associated processes including steam and water, sanitary waste and vent systems, laboratory waste systems, supply lines, drainage systems and pneumatic systems
• Works with a variety of materials including cement, plastic solvent, caulk, solder, cast iron, PVC, polypropylene, and copper
• Assembles pipe sections, tubing and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, soldering or brazing equipment
• Performs measuring, cutting, threading or bending pipe using industry standard tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, pipe-threaders, and welding equipment
• Follows procedures, codes and industry standards and maintains strict adherence to safety rules and quality standards, regulations and codes
• Works from written schematics (blueprints, sketches, and other documents) and verbal instructions
• Ensures adequate inventory of necessary plumbing supplies, parts, and materials
• Responds to and resolves plumbing emergencies
• Maintains proper documentation and record keeping
• Performs other related maintenance department duties as required including mechanical and electrical repairs and general maintenance, welding, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting.
