Responsibilities Work in a 14-bed CVICU within a hospital setting that is a Level III Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain and Stroke Center of Excellence Patients include those with STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and post-thoracic or CT surgery cases RN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 Unit features two negative pressure rooms for specialized care EMR system used is Epic IV pumps are Alaris, medication dispensing is Omnicell, and monitoring equipment is Phillips Weekend shifts are scheduled every other weekend No on-call requirement Floating may be required to other hospital sites within the Southeast Region Schedule is based on a six-week cycle Primary responsibilities include care of acute cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients Support available from 24 / 7 Respiratory Therapy and Intensivists, as well as charge nurse and IV / VAT team Orientation includes system NEO and two days departmental training Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays Up to 6 days of RTO (excluding holidays) may be approved, but contract must be extended if hours are not met Scrub color is navy Free parking is provided First-time travelers may be considered, but prior experience is preferred Requirements Active NC or compact state RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum two years of recent critical care experience required Experience with management of vasoactive medications, chest tubes, surgical drains, ventilators, and CRRT Skills in handling invasive lines including arterial lines, PA catheters, and transvenous pacemakers Proficiency with IABP and Impella device management One professional reference from a supervisor or charge RN dated within one year is required Must provide evidence of recent experience within the last year in the unit specialty Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625057.
