The Opportunity

Data Product Lead is a paramount leadership role within the Enterprise Data & Analytics function at Popular, wielding comprehensive authority over the exhaustive lifecycle of intricate data products, encompassing strategy, development, launch, and robust revenue generation.

The Lead emphasizes orchestrating data products that are intricately crafted to meet the distinct needs of the financial sector.

This role ensures that data products staunchly adhere to industry regulations while contributing significantly to informed decision-making and financial reporting.

This seasoned individual forms synergetic collaborations with cross-functional teams, actively engages with clients, and propels data products as pivotal revenue growth drivers.

Your key responsibilities :

You will be part of diverse teams of professionals across different geographies to deliver a wide range of data and analytics services.

You will be solving complex issues and driving growth across the Enterprise Data & Analytics function.

Specifically :

  • Lead and oversee the comprehensive data product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle, ensuring strategic, financial, security, risk, and compliance alignment.
  • Drive product development and delivery : Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems.
  • Make materials needed for contracts, marketing, sales, and financial reporting, always sticking to financial rules.
  • Generate collateral for contracts, marketing, sales, and financial reporting, ensuring absolute compliance with stringent financial regulations.
  • Perform consistent revenue reviews and monitor essential financial metrics, evaluating the influence of data products on revenue, risk management, and compliance.
  • Establish a long-term product portfolio strategy, informed by customer and business needs, to gain alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments.
  • Advocate for the data product across all organizational levels, ensuring that it seamlessly aligns with the financial sector’s needs and compliance.
  • Identify product opportunities through meticulous market research, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and engaging in-depth with customers.
  • Estimate revenue potential and devise effective selling and launch strategies that are pragmatically ambitious and financially viable.
  • Methodically collect and analyze data for product development and design, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned with product goals.
  • Define KPIs and gather metrics, ensuring feedback mechanisms such as product features, surveys, and customer reviews are incorporated into product evolution.
  • Evaluate key metrics and performance to provide actionable insights, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and profit through data mining, analytics, and automation.
  • Provide leadership oversight of the design and development of client and franchising strategies, in alignment and in close collaboration with the respective product and channel owners.
  • Drive product innovation and define long-term product direction with initial focus refining the product offering and internal support strategy.
  • Liaise with key internal partners from groups including Legal, Compliance, and Risk.
  • Supports deposit analytics and pricing strategy by product to maximize rate volume mix and corporate profit objectives
  • Delivers information to management around loan and deposit pricing trends and strategy
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and related documentation around tasks, models, and various risk reporting areas consistent Popular policies and strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for training and work with relevant partners to create and deliver training.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Popular brand.

To qualify for the role, you must have :

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a delivery critical role leading end-to-end data product management lifecycle, financial data analytics, or a related elite field within the financial sector.
  • 7+ years of experience in building digital and data capabilities in either product generation of datasets, data domains, or data services.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital / growth / performance marketing
  • 5+ years of experience managing paid social (FB, IG, TT) / paid search (GG) / display / affiliate / emerging media channels.
  • 5+ years of experience with Paid Media, Email, CRM, and Web Analytics platforms
  • 3-5 years of experience with CRM Loyalty and Referral marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience managing, training, developing, and team members.
  • A proven track record of projects utilizing data science, AI / ML, data visualization, BI too
  • ls, and techniques, showcasing tangible impacts through data product development.
  • Prior experience working within Financial Services or Insurance industries.
  • Robust understanding of financial regulations, data governance, data analytics, product management principles, and revenue generation strategies.
  • Licenses or certifications such as CSM, PMP, PMI, CSPO, or PM are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in agile-based development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban for collaborating, developing, and delivering data products.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, GCP, and AWS, alongside a thorough knowledge of their capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Data Lake, Snowflake, Redshift, Hadoop, ensuring optimal use of analytical data stores.
  • Strong experience architecting data lake, data lake house, data warehouse, data mesh, data fabric, data hubs, and operational data stores.
  • Experience managing data as a product and data marketplace.
  • Robust knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional data models, their implementation and usage.
  • Experience with Digital products (Salesforce, Adobe, and related, Mobile, IVR, Contact Center)
  • Experience in customer 360, MDM and personalization and tools like IBM MDM, Semarchy, Reltio, Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • Experience in data management, data governance, data visualization tools such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, PowerBI, and Tableau
  • Experience in ETL / ELT, data acquisition and ingestion, data integration, and CDC tools such as Informatica, Talend, CloverDX, DBT, Qlik Replicate or others.
  • Proven track record for creating and delivering successful digital channel strategies, plans, and campaigns demonstrating and delivering against them for Revenue growth and ongoing channel optimization
  • Experience in managing a wide range of agencies and partners in support of digital channels
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Exemplary communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, nurturing a culture of transparency and innovation.
  • Proven experience in a role which requires networking, partnership building and credibility development internally and externally to an organization.
