Sales Development Representative

At Zipline we're always looking for ambitious, growth-minded individuals to join our Sales team. While we don't have an active opening for this position today, we're a rapidly growing organization that continues to expand and promote from within. We're building our pipeline for the next wave of Sales Development Representatives to join our expanding Sales team.

This role is perfect for someone who is driven, curious, and eager to make an impact by identifying and engaging with potential customers. As a Sales Development Representative, you'll play a key role in generating qualified opportunities for our sales team through strategic outreach and thoughtful prospecting. We need individuals who are proactive, persistent, and skilled at identifying new business opportunities.

About the Role

Our SDRs conduct outbound activities across multiple channels, including calls, emails, social outreach, and video messaging. You'll collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to build a strong pipeline of leads and help drive business growth. Rejection is part of the job, so we need resilient individuals who thrive on finding creative ways to connect with decision-makers and move conversations forward.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect & Research : Identify and engage with key decision-makers in target accounts.
  • Strategize : Analyze industry trends, company structures, and business objectives to craft personalized outreach.
  • Outreach & Engagement : Conduct outbound activities (calls, emails, social outreach, and video messaging) to create meaningful conversations.
  • Qualify & Convert : Ask insightful questions, gather key business intelligence, and schedule high-quality meetings for the sales team.
  • Collaborate : Partner with sales and marketing to refine messaging, improve lead generation strategies, and optimize our outreach approach.
  • Optimize & Scale : Help build scalable processes, leveraging tools like Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Apollo to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience : 1+ years in business development, lead generation, or B2B SaaS, ideally with a focus on retail.
  • Resilience : Comfortable making 70+ outbound touches daily, handling rejection, and continuously iterating on approach.
  • Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to engage and persuade at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Tech-Savvy : Experience with Salesforce, LinkedIn, Outreach, Orum, or similar prospecting tools.
  • Outbound Focused : Passionate about outbound prospecting, with a proven ability to generate leads through proactive outreach.
  • Collaboration : Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing and sales teams to drive pipeline growth.
  • Self-Starter Mentality : Highly motivated, independent thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compensation

    At Zipline, we're committed to paying our team fairly, transparently, and in a way that supports growth. This role has a minimum annual salary within Canada of $60,000 CAD and a maximum of $90,000 CAD . This role has a minimum annual salary in the USA of $60,000 and a maximum of $90,000 USD.

    The broad salary ranges reflect the growth someone will experience in the rolefrom developing skills to reaching expertise within their career level. We've found that hiring team members with the expectation of being accomplished in the role sets them up for success, which for this position on the USA band means a starting salary of $67,500 USD . Within the Canadian band, $67,500 CAD . Salaries below this point typically reflect someone with potential but still building the necessary skills, while salaries above are for individuals already excelling in the role, with a deep understanding of Zipline's impact on customers, product, and company.

    At Zipline, you'll continue to have career development conversations with your manager to ensure your compensation grows as you advance.

    Our salary ranges are determined by market, factoring in our revenue and employee size, paying competitively at the 75th percentile. In higher cost of living markets, we apply 5-10% multipliers on our ranges, depending on the location, to maintain competitive compensation and reflective of the increased expenses our team members face in those areas. While we primarily hire in Canada and the USA, we are a global employer, and all hiring regions will use the same methodology to determine fair and transparent pay.
