HVAC Controls Engineer
Position Overview We're seeking a motivated HVAC / BAS Controls Engineer to develop and implement cutting-edge building automation systems that optimize climate control, energy usage, and system performance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS) to manage HVAC systems across commercial and industrial facilities
- Develop and modify control logic, graphical user interfaces, and integration strategies for open and proprietary systems (e.g., Tridium, Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens)
- Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and installation teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Troubleshoot HVAC and control issues, perform diagnostics, and implement corrective actions
- Analyze building performance data and make control system adjustments to optimize energy efficiency
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including submittals, as-builts, and technical manuals
- Support retro-commissioning and system upgrades for existing facilities
- Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and cybersecurity practices
- Stay current with industry trends, control technologies, and energy management best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering-or equivalent experienceHands-on experience with HVAC controls, DDC systems, and BAS platformsProficient in programming BAS software, configuring networks, and integrating third-party systemsFamiliarity with HVAC system design, sequence of operations, and industry protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on energy efficiency and system performanceFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
