Assistant Professor, Department of History

The Department of History at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the history of the United States during the long nineteenth century to start on or after July 1 2026. We welcome applications from candidates who either are ABD or hold a recent PhD and particularly encourage applications from scholars whose work explores transnational perspectives on these histories.

Candidates must have earned the PhD degree in a relevant field prior to the start of the appointment.
