IT Manager

The Manager, Information Technology is responsible for overseeing daily technology support for students, faculty, and staff at Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing, St. Mary's Hospital School of Medical Imaging (SOMI), and Southside College of Health Sciences. This position ensures smooth delivery of technology services, directs a small team of support analysts, and serves as a key liaison between the College and the health system IT department for infrastructure and enterprise systems. The work is primarily conducted on-site / on-campus in the Richmond, VA area.

Essential Job Functions

• Oversee and direct daily technology support for college students, staff, and faculty, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technology issues.
• Direct, manage, and coordinate a small team of support analysts in carrying out daily technology support duties.
• Participate in student onboarding events to introduce new students to the college's technology resources and systems.
• Plan, hold, and lead technology training sessions for faculty and staff to enhance technology adoption and effective use.
• Develop, document, and maintain processes and procedures for technology support.
• Manage, track, and maintain inventory of technology devices, peripherals, and spare parts.
• Coordinate with the health system IT team as needed for network infrastructure, security, and other enterprise-level technology services.
• This position occasionally requires afterhours or weekend work when to support technology events, maintenance or emergency student issues.

Licensing / Certification

Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, etc.) preferred.

Education

Bachelor of Science Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or Related (required)

Work Experience

5+ years of general information technology experience (required).

1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience (required).

Prior experience in a higher education environment (preferred).

Experience with student information systems, classroom technologies, or learning management systems (preferred).
