Electronic Security Technician

Rx Technology is looking for individuals with a strong aptitude for learning, strong computer skills, are self-sufficient as well as able to perform in a team setting. In addition, they should have great customer service and trouble shooting skills. Work ethic is paramount.

The following are some of the tasks, duties and skills that will be required :

Install, program, and configure access control systems, including card readers, electronic locks, biometric readers, and related hardware.

Expert experience installing, servicing, and repairing cctv cameras and related systems

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing access control systems.

Conduct site surveys to assess security needs and plan installations.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with access control systems to ensure optimal functionality.

Integrate access control systems with other security systems, such as CCTV and alarm systems.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand project requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, maintenance, and repairs.

Ensure all work complies with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.

Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with all services rendered.

Stay updated with advancements in access control technology and incorporate new solutions into projects.

Requirements :

Minimum of two years of experience as an Access Control Technician or in a similar role.

Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the installation and maintenance of access control systems.

Strong understanding of access control systems, including card readers, electronic locks, and biometric readers.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications in access control systems, such as Lenel, S2, Genetec, Software House, or equivalent.

Experience with networking and IT systems.

Familiarity with construction techniques and industry standards.

Basic computer skills and proficiency with relevant software.

Manufacturer certifications preferred but not required.

Potential for pay increase per certifications earned.

Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and dependable transportation.

Must pass a security background check to obtain a TOPS security license.

Must pass a drug test.
