Job Title : Registered Nurse - Progressive Care
Overview : We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN in the Progressive Care setting will play an essential role in providing specialized care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring and interventions than general medical-surgical patients but do not yet require intensive care.
Responsibilities :
Patient Assessment and Monitoring :
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status, including continuous monitoring of vital signs, telemetry, and assessment of critical indicators.
- Identify changes in patient condition and intervene promptly, escalating care as necessary.
Patient Care and Treatment :
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols and individualized care plans.
- Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, titrate medications, and provide post-cardiac intervention care.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education, support, and updates on their condition and treatment plan.
Documentation and Record-keeping :
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies related to Progressive Care nursing.
Critical Thinking and Decision Making :
- Exercise critical thinking skills and clinical judgment in managing complex patient cases and emergency situations.
- Prioritize patient care needs effectively, responding to changes in patient condition promptly.
Qualifications :
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Previous experience in a Progressive Care, Step-down, or Intermediate Care Unit preferred.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and administration of cardiac medications.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic care environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN) or related specialty.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
