Overview
The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Cornea Specialist to join our academic faculty at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. This position offers a dynamic blend of clinical care, teaching, and research, tailored to the candidate’s experience and interests.
As a faculty member, you will contribute to our robust residency program in comprehensive ophthalmology and fellowships in cornea and external disease, retina-vitreous disease, and oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor trainees, collaborate across specialties, and engage in innovative research within a nationally recognized academic medical center.
You’ll also be part of an exciting new chapter : the Wake Forest School of Medicine Eye Institute , currently under renovation, is set to open in 2026 in Winston-Salem’s Innovation Quarter . This state-of-the-art facility will offer comprehensive eye care for adults and children, advanced surgical capabilities, and will complement the existing Eye Center, which continues to provide services such as ophthalmology, optometry, and LASIK surgery.
