General Summary
UFP Industries is seeking a skilled Web Developer to help drive our web development projects. The ideal candidate will understand modern web technologies, best practices, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable web applications. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications, and contributing to the strategic direction of our web development efforts. This position is a full-time, onsite position, based out of Grand Rapids, MI (not a remote position).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems for our web applications.
Contribute to front-end development of web applications
Consult with clients and web team to understand visual concepts, formatting requirements, end-user needs and company brand and image to develop a strategy for building website components
Take on complex and critical projects that require architectural design work, advanced technical and problem-solving skills, and often cross-functional collaboration.
Gather insight / requirements from Business Analysts and end users
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions
Accurately estimate time and materials needed for assigned projects
Performs other duties as required.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
3+ years of professional web development experience
Proficiency in primary programming languages (e.g., C#, JavaScript).
Experience with relevant backend frameworks and tools (e.g., ASP.NET Core, Node.js).
Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
Familiarity of database technologies (SQL / Microsoft SQL Server) and experience with Entity Framework.
Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Azure Pipelines).
Preferred experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
Preferred familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI / CD, Docker, etc.).
Solid understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
Preferred knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office Components including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
Ability to successfully interact and communicate with all organizational levels and the public, including leading large-scale presentations to audiences with varying technical skills
Ability to learn new computer software applications quickly
Logical, process-oriented nature
Ability to communicate clearly via video conference, phone and email with customers, vendors and co-workers
Ability to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement in business processes and systems
Must work out of the Grand Rapids, MI corporate office.

Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable. Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Some traveling is required.
