Workplace Experience Specialist
The Workplace Experience Specialist will support the team at the Oakland office. This person will focus on creating a top notch workplace experience, ordering supplies as needed, managing the onsite candidate experience, executor (or creator!) for company events, design communication documents that can be used company-wide, and help ensure our Oakland office is an incredible place to work. This person must be highly organized and efficient with a passion for building a world class workplace experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment where two days are rarely the same. The Workplace Experience Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Talent Development & Workplace Experience.
In this role you'll get to :
- Create meaningful connections by planning and executing events, volunteer opportunities, and team activities that bring our culture to life and strengthen engagement across Scottsdale, Oakland, and distributed teams.
- Elevate the employee experience by shaping office environments that foster collaboration, productivity, and a sense of belonging, while partnering with IT and other teams to introduce tools that enhance how we work together.
- Lead seamless execution of leadership retreats, company gatherings, team-building events, and on-site visits, ensuring every detail reflects ThredUp's culture and values.
- Keep employees informed and connected as the main communicator for the Oakland office, sharing updates, announcements, and event details that drive clarity and alignment.
- Oversee day-to-day operations by coordinating with vendors and property management, ensuring facilities, supplies, meals, and services support a smooth workplace experience.
- Manage resources effectively by tracking budgets, handling expenses, and maintaining vendor relationships to deliver high-quality experiences.
- Support People Team initiatives through project contributions, scheduling, and the rollout of new tools that enhance the employee journey.
- Champion culture and belonging by partnering with leaders to design initiatives and spaces that inspire employees and reflect ThredUp's mission.
What we're looking for :
5+ years of experience in workplace, office administration, hospitality, or related fields.Tech-savvy with advanced knowledge of G SuiteBachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Workplace Experience, Facilities Management, Events, or a related fieldProven experience in office management, employee experience, or event coordination in a fast-paced, creative environmentStrong project management skills with sharp attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalHighly organized with strong execution and follow-throughResourceful and solution-oriented problem solverExperience managing budgets and negotiating vendor contractsWillingness to travel up to once a monthComfortable serving as the face of ThredUp for onsite candidatesAt ThredUp, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $80,000 and $85,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
