Role Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex IT projects using formal Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrix environment. The ideal candidate has experience with application development, systems integration, data-related projects, and preferably Commercial Insurance.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end management of complex IT projects ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
Execute projects following PMLC and SDLC standards including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, work plans, status reports, risk / issue logs, communication plans, and budgets.
Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and sponsors to define requirements, scope, timelines, and resource needs.
Work closely with business analysts and architects to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions for deviations in schedule or scope.
Technical Qualifications
12+ years of IT project management experience delivering complex application, data, or integration projects.
Strong understanding of PMLC and SDLC methodologies.
Hands-on experience managing medium to large-scale IT integration initiatives.
Experience in Commercial Insurance is highly preferred.
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
Expertise with project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Planview, SharePoint, Jira, or similar.
Ability to translate business needs into clear technical deliverables.
Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
Solid understanding of requirements management, testing processes, and system deployment.

Education
Bachelor's degree required (BA / BS).
PMP certification is preferred but not required.
CPCU or advanced business / technology degree is a strong plus.
